He started his career as a swimmer. He was in the Greek National Swimming Team until 1979. He participated as swimmer in the Balkan Games and many other intarnational tournaments. On 1977 he played for the team of Panathinakos for the first time. His first game with the senior team of Panathinakos, was on 1979. He played also for the Juniors National Greek Team 4 years with 100 international participations. He was 4 times 1st scorer in the Greek Championship.
